International Puppet companies from India, Ireland, Italy, Japan and USA
performed in Singapore’s inaugural Puppet Festival this 24 – 27 May at the
Esplanade – Theatres On the Bay . Shows included performances by
International puppeteers from India (Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust), Ireland (Your
Man’s Puppets), Italy (Teatro Tages Company), Japan (Torroko Puppets),
Singapore (Mascots & Puppet Specialists) and The United States (Theodora
Skipitares). Master Classes were conducted by Theodora Skipitares from the
United States, Dadi Pudumjee from India, Frankie Malachi and Zachary Mossale
from Singapore.
The Festival's aim is to expose the emerging contemporary puppet language from across the world and further enrich the puppet traditions of the region.
The event was organised by Teamwork Productions (India) and supported by the National Arts Council (NAC), Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (Singapore)

Film Retrospective – Sharmila Tagore

High Commission of India with partners in India & Singapore presented ‘Celebrating India – 2006’ celebrating contemporary India, the best of Indian artistic talent and the diverse and growing aspects of Singapore – India relations.
As part of the weeklong festivities Teamwork organized a film retrospective of the legendary actress Sharmila Tagore screened in Singapore from 14th – 19th April preceded by “In conversation with Sharmila Tagore” by Perizaad Zorabian, noted young actress from Mumbai.

Ganesh Hegde – Live in Concert

| Ganesh Hegde, ace Bollywood choreographer performed in the show entitled ‘India goes Global’ as part of the ‘Celebrating India – 2006, Singapore’ spanning the range of Bollywood music & dance in films from Raj Kapoor to Shah Rukh Khan in Singapore He is one of the first Indian artistes’ to sing, produce, write, direct and star in his début music video Main Deewana which won the Mirchi Award for the Best Pop Artist of the year.

A two-hour star studded show with spectacular pyros, Shah
Rukh Khan Live in Singapore! is an exhilarating showcase of
Bollywood song and dance sequences featuring the biggest
stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan
and Priyanka Chopra. Teamwork Films produced the show in
association with The Singapore Tourism Board, in November.

in Singapore presented a contemporary Image of India in Singapore in
association with Teamwork Films The 7 day festival and business
conference was a resounding success. The President and Prime Minister
of Singapore were the chief guests present on the occasion.
