MAHINDRA EXCELLENCE IN THEATRE AWARDS 2005

The Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards aims to honour the best of Indian theatre, and to encourage excellence among the thousands who work in theatre across the country. In its premier year, the grand jury comprised of prominent theatre practitioners Including Shabana Azmi, Zafar Hai, M.K. Raina, Ila Arun,Shyamanand Jalan & M.S Sathyu. Plays from India competed for the two categories of EMERGING theatre & ESTABLISHED theatre. Conceptualised by Ravi Dubey and produced by Teamwork Films the Festival & Awards Ceremony will be an annual feature. The awards ceremony was hosted by internationally renowned actor Kabir Bedi.

ISHARA INTERNATIONAL PUPPET FESTIVAL – 2003- 2006 This annual Festival has brought together groups from UK, Holland Spain, Ireland USA, Japan, Taiwan, Sweden and India. The shows range from traditional rod & string puppets to visual stories and epics. The festival brings together various cultures and traditions on a common platform. The Festival produced by Teamwork Productions, India focuses on contemporary work from India and abroad and is seen as an established platform to further multi media arts in India.

JAIPUR INTERNATIONAL HERITAGE FESTIVAL (JANUARY 2003 - 2006) To highlight the 300-year-old heritage of Jaipur, an annual 2-week Festival is organized to showcase the history of the area and focuses on development and economic issues, which included restoration and conservation, heritage and education, economic development and tourism.

SPANISH FILM FESTIVAL 23rd – 26th FEB 06 The Imagine India Association, together with EGEDA (Association of Spanish Film Producers) SGAE - Fundación Autor (Association of Spanish Authors) and ICAA of Ministry of Culture (Film Institute of the Ministry of Culture), promoted a Festival of Spanish Films in India in association with the DFF India and collaborating partners Teamwork Films at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. The high profile delegation that attended the festival in Delhi included Sr. D. Fernando Lara, Director General of Cinematography, actors Goya Toledo & Pilar López de Ayala and directors Jaime Chávarri Joaquín Oristrell Larry Levene, Fernando Colomo. Some of the films screened included the memorable TODO SOBRE MI MADRE (All About My Mother) Director: Pedro Almodóvar CAMARÓN, Director: Jaime Chavarri and MI VIDA SIN MI (My Life Without Me) Director: Isabel Coixet.

GODS, GRAVES AND GRANDMOTHER – A MUSICAL ‘Gods Graves & Grandmother’ is a magical, enthralling play, and one that wears its many complexities lightly. It retells the classic tale of the ordinary individual thrust into extraordinary circumstances. As a musical, it explores the entire range of Indian, Classical, Bollywood and Sufi music. A few stones under a pipal tree are transformed into a place of worship by the power of Ammi's singing voice. The lives of those around her take on an extraordinary momentum of their own. Based on Namita Gokhale's acclaimed novel, the script, skillfully adapted by Nicholas Kharkongor with Shena Gamat, is a vibrant Celebration of street life, of prayers, miracles, and the ever sung India song. Staring Zila Khan the play is directed by Sanjoy Roy and Produced by Teamwork Productions.

FRIENDS OF MUSIC 1995 - 2006 Between the worlds of classical music and filmi pop there is a wide spectrum of Music being performed in India- Jazz, rock, pop, fusion, and urban folk... Both original music and cover versions through Friends of Music, we have provided a live forum for gifted musicians - known or unknown.

MILLENNIUM EVE CHINA From the Acropolis in Athens to the Great Wall of China, travelling across 8 countries China’s Phoenix Television telecast a Millennium eve special program recorded in India. Teamwork Films designed & produced ‘ CELEBRATION OF LIFE’ a spectacle of sight & sound, an event held at the historic Purana Quila and televised across Asia.

THE INAUGURATION OF THE KHAJURAHO MILLENNIUM FESTIVAL (1999) The Inauguration of the Khajuraho Millennium Celebrations, 6th March 1999, by the President of India at The Khajuraho Group of temples set in the heart of India celebrated 1000 years since its inception in 999 AD.   The event was set in the midst of the Shiv Sagar lake, using the creative energies of India's foremost puppet and mask artist Dadi Pudumjee to recreate the legend of the birth of the Chandela dynasty. India ' s leading fusion band Indian Ocean performed a specially created Millennium Anthem for the occasion. The Khajuraho Music Festival ran for 3 years bringing together musicians from across the country in a three-day and night concert.

CASSANDRA NOW by THEATRE SLAVA JANUARY 2003 Theatre Slava is Europe’s most renowned theatre group and the director Erik Norlin is amongst the world’s most accomplished directors known for his magical interpretations and amazing design sense. Touring India for the first time (Kolkata, Delhi, Mysore) Cassandra Now, based on Euripides, The Trojans was a three-act neo mythological epic contrasting the brutality and tragedy of the Greco – Trojan War with the recent Balkan conflict.

Astad Deboo & The Daksha Sheth Dance Company Performed their new work across India in Oct/Nov 2004, The shows were produced by Teamwork.

MACBETH presented by THE ANGLIAN SHAKESPEARE COMPANY – UK (AUGUST 2001) Teamwork Fine Arts Society in association with The British Council presented The Anglian Shakespeare Company – UK in a traditional production of William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. The Company’s tour included Delhi and Kolkata in India and Beijing in China.

THE DARJEELING HIMALAYAN RAILWAY HERITAGE (DHRHF) CELEBRATIONS The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway was awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO, to mark this occasion steam lovers from across the world congregated in India for a weeklong rededication ceremony, which took them from Delhi to Darjeeling via Calcutta and New Jalpaiguri led by the Secretary of the Friends of DHR – UK chapter, Mr. Benedict Cadbury. Teamwork Films designed the event, which has now been translated into an annual festival. FESTIVAL OF JAPAN IN INDIA Created and Managed the Festival of Japan in India in association with the Mitsubishi Group and the Embassy of Japan for February 1997. Teamwork Films brought together Louis Banks, Zakir Hussain and Shivamani – premier classical and Jazz artistes of India, to perform in a fusion concert spread over two days with Leonard Eto and The Rinken Band of Japan.

MUMMENSCHANZ “NEXT”– UNIQUE MASK THEATRE SWITZERLAND MARCH 2005 The Swiss based Mummenschanz has Performed at Broadway for a three-year run, an unprecedented feat for a group whose show contained no words or music. Mummenschanz “Next” was produced by Teamwork Films in association with the Embassy of Switzerland and toured 4 cities Including Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai mesmerizing audiences and critics alike.

THE NBC ASIA & CNBC LAUNCHES (1996) Designed and produced the launch of America‘s leading channels in India in October 1996. Two specially created entertainment pieces, were created to specially composed music by Louis Banks.

THE PINNACLE AWARDS (1995) Awards designed for Excellence in Television. The Awards Ceremony was telecast Live on Zee TV on the 5th of November 1995. The process included an Academy Consisting of 800 Television Professionals flown in from all over India into Delhi to vote for the Awards. This Award has established itself as the symbol of excellence in Indian television.

DOCUMENTARY FILMS l OF STATIONS & HILL STATIONS This five-part documentary on the Hill trains of India looks at the romance of these hill stations and of the trains that became a lifeline to the area. These include the Kalka – Shimla line, The Nilgiri Express and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.   l SHAHAJAHANABAD –THE TWLIGHT YEARS A four-part documentary based on the Delhi ‘Shahajahanabad – The Twilight Years – 1850 to 1947,traces a tumultuous 100 years of Delhi, the capital of the Mughal Empire leading to India’s independence. This 110 min four part mini series has a won a number of international awards.   l JODHPUR - MEDIEVAL MAJESTY A film promoting Jodhpur as a tourist destination. Produced for Department of Tourism, Government of India   l THE KILLING FIELDS The religious fair, held annually at the Bhunkhal Kalika Devi temple dates back to the Gorkha rule in the region around 1802, and attracts devotees from Garhwal in Uttaranchal Pradesh. Villagers pool their resources to buy the sacrificial buffaloes and goats, offering them to the Goddess. The film commissioned by The Public Service Broadcasting Trust (India) attempts to explore the myth, the belief and the ritual aspect of the ceremony.   l ARMAAN A docu-drama on adolescent girls, produced for UNICEF and VHAI (Voluntary Health Association of India).   l PATTERNS OF CHANGE A documentary on the establishment of a weaver's co-operative in Western Rajasthan, and the revival of a dying art form

SERIALS & TELEPLAYS NEWSLINE A weekly Tele serial based on a newsmagazine office - exploring the grit, hard work and commitment it takes to be a journalist, as also exposing the nexus that exists between politics, crime and the media. The serial featured Vinod Nagpal in a leading role . PRISONER OF MALABAR HILL A teleplay for Doordarshan with a cast of eminent theatre actors including Lillete Dubey, Amar Talwar, Sita Raina LADO MAUSI - A teleplay for Doordarshan.

LIVE COVERAGE OF SHOWS THE PHOENIX SATELLITE CHANNEL MILLENNIUM TOUR From the Acropolis in Athens to the Great Wall of China, travelling over 40,000 kms by Land in 130 days, 18 Phoenix Satellite Television Millennium crewmembers ventured out to explore the rich culture & tradition of over 10 countries for their viewers across the Asia Pacific Region. To commemorate their arrival in India, Teamwork Films designed & produced ‘CELEBRATION OF LIFE' a spectacle of sight & sound, an event held at the historic Purana Quila in December ‘99 and televised across Asia. FASHION SHOW Tarun Tahiliani's 1997 winter fall collection was filmed exclusively for International telecast.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME – INDIAN SPECIAL The hit BBC two show Goodness Gracious Me, decamped to India for a very special edition of their hit series. The regular team of Meera Syal, Nina Wadia, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Kulvinder Ghir shot in Mandawa, Agra & Delhi for this very special edition. Goodness gracious me is produced by Anil Gupta and executive produced by Jon Plowman. Teamwork films was line producer for the entire schedule in India.
